Pokeweed is an attractive and very tall, typically 2 meters, sometimes 3 meters. The berries are often consumed by American Robin, and perhaps other song birds in September. The purple berries, like many other plant fruits maybe poisonous. The leaves can be eaten (cooked as a pot herb in the spring), but careful preparation is required as they are poisonous.
