Barren Strawberry (Geum fragarioides)

Habitat: Forests

Grows in Sun/Shade: Shade

Flowers: Yellow

Height: 10-30 cm (3-11 in)

Barren Strawberry is a wonderful ground cover that grows in part sun to shade and prefers loam and sandy soils. Its politically incorrect name comes from the leaves, which are similar to Wild Strawberry, but with a yellow flower and no red fleshy fruit, it was named Barren Strawberry, (like a woman that can not conceive).
