American Bellflower's blue-violet blooms provide a bright late-summer splash to a woodland planting. It will only flower the year you plant it. It will then reseed itself and flower in two years. You can plant more plants the next year, to create a continuous display quickly, or wait and eventually a population will establish that flowers every year.
