Tall Coreopsis (Coreopsis tripteris)

Habitat: Fields and Open Areas

Grows in Sun/Shade: Sun

Flowers: Yellow

Attributes: Butterfly nectar plant, Drought tolerant, Clay soil tolerant

Height: 60-250 cm (23-98 in)

This plant isn't particular about soil type, and can be found growing in soil containing substantial amounts of loam, clay-loam, gravel, or sand. Tall Coreopsis tolerates competition from other plants and is easy to grow. Mature plants tolerate some drought, and foliar disease is rarely a significant problem. Because it is a rare prairie and savanna plant in southwestern Ontario it should not be introduced into the wild.
