There are a lot of reasons for you to plant Sweet Oxeye: it is very hardy, deer resistant, attracts pollinators, including butterflies and hummingbirds, it makes excellent cut flowers and small birds are attracted to the dried seed heads. Sweet Oxeye is a yellow daisy-like prairie flower that is also called false sunflower. It has a similar name to the European weed Oxeye Daisy, which it is not related to. Sweet Oxeye is appropriate for planting with other prairie plants, such as ornamental grasses.
