Hoary Vervain (Verbena stricta)

Height: 75-100 cm (29-39 in)


This extremely drought-resistant plant thrives on dry soils, sending up flower stalks in the heat of summer. Hoary Vervain flourishes in poor soil consisting of clay, sand, or gravel. In rich loamy soil, it will grow well, but has difficulty competing with other plants. It is an excellent plant for feeding pollinators, including butterflies.
