Sweet Betsey is a sessile trillium, meaning the flower is not on a stalk, but appears to sit on top of the three leaves. It is close in colour to the Purple Trillium, which is native. Sweet Betsey is not native to Ontario, but it is native to parts of the Eastern United States. All trilliums are grown from seed, and therefore small when sold. It will take another 3-4 years for the plants to flower after planting.
